Police arrest crime film actors
(Ananova.com)
Police in Colorado reportedly mistook actors making a crime movie
for the real thing and arrested them.
Deputies handcuffed
crew members and pointed a rifle at actor Chris Borden, says the
Rocky Mountain News.
Borden, 25, one
of the stars of low budget thriller Different Kinds, said: "It
took a little while for me to realise I could've died for my art."
Larimer County
sheriff's deputies had responded to a call from a park ranger reporting
a hostage situation.
In the scene
being filmed, Borden pistol-whipped a man who was trying to rescue
a woman Borden had kidnapped.
"They told
me I looked like I didn't care if I got shot because I had a criminal
demeanour," Borden said.
Borden claims
deputies told him the only reason they didn't shoot him was because
they saw a cameraman.
Borden and director
Eileen Agosta now both face disorderly conduct charges and are due
in court in August.
"We're considering
having the whole cast show up to say: "Hey, we were filming
a movie"," Borden said.

MISSOURI DOG BREEDER SAYS WOMAN
BEAT HIM WITH A DEAD CHIHUAHUA
From STLTODAY.COM:
A woman is accused of repeatedly hitting a dog breeder
on the head with a dead Chihuahua puppy because she was upset it
had died.
The
Wentzville, MO woman, 33, whose name was being withheld pending
charges, told police that she had taken the puppy to a veterinarian,
who said it was only 4 weeks old and needed to be returned to its
mother.
But
before the woman could return the puppy, it died.
Police
gave this account:
The
woman went to the breeder's home in St. Peters about 5:45 a.m.
Wednesday. She pushed her way in and began fighting with the breeder
and pulling her hair as she tried to make her way to the basement
to get another puppy. The breeder wrestled the woman out of her
house, but on the front porch, the woman hit the breeder over
the head numerous times with the dead puppy, police said.
A
neighbor heard the commotion and asked the breeder if she needed
help. The breeder told the neighbor to call police, and the woman
retreated to her car with the carcass.
As
she pulled away, the woman waved the dead puppy out of the car's
sunroof and yelled threats at the breeder, police said. She later
called the breeder and threatened her and her family, according
to court records.
The
breeder did not seek medical attention, police said, but she and
two other people in the home got temporary orders of protection
against the dog owner. The breeder declined to comment, and the
dog owner could not be reached.
Police
did not know the weight of the dead puppy, but a Chihuahua weighs
just 2 to 6 pounds when grown.
Police
said they are applying for felony burglary charges against the dog
owner, for entering the home, and misdemeanor assault charges.

DOG IN REHAB
Fed steady diet of beer, doughnuts. Too fat to stand up.
MARICOPA
COUNTY, Ariz. -- An extremely overweight dog is being rehabilitated
after being fed a diet of beer and doughnuts.
When
the Arizona Humane Society took in "Sessa," she weighed
almost three times as much as she should have and couldn't even
stand.
"This
is quite unique to actually have a dog that cannot get up because
she's so overweight," said Alexis Boyle of the Humane Society.
The
scale-busting diet was not illegal in Arizona, reported NBC Phoenix
station KPNX-TV. (MORE)

Family booted from Chinese Buffet;
owners say their snotty kids wasted too much food.
Des
Moines, IA -- Wendy Dershem, her boyfriend and her two children
were kicked out of a restaurant last week after management accused
her of leaving too much food on her plate.
"They
told us we are not welcome there anymore," said Dershem, a
repeat customer at the Dragon House buffet. "We waste too much
food. But the buffet is all you can eat. And you know kids. They
won't always eat everything and they want something else."
Dershem
said she paid her $5.95 fee on Saturday but was abruptly told to
leave after eating one plate of food.
Employees
said they had been watching her family on previous trips to the
restaurant and were fed up with her habits.
"They
just take one bite and throw it away," said cashier Lin Huyen.
"They take four egg rolls and crab ragoon, take one bite of
egg roll and throw the whole plate. That is wasting food."
Dershem
said she was shocked by the scolding and complained to management
when she paid her check. "It was embarrassing. ... If it's
a one-stop buffet, post it," she said.
Dragon
House manager Kent Cao said his restaurant offers all you can eat
buffet, not all you can waste. Dershem's family took food, didn't
finish it and then piled on the same food again, he said.
